That is all.
Now you just need to fix the following:
-No V8
-Condensation in Tail Lamps and sometimes headlamps
-Has BST software (boo!)
-Stupid ECO (easy as pie to turn off the light, but the ECO programming in the transmission shift pattern and ECM management cannot be turned off!
)-You now have Entune, heh good luck with that!
-When the Master Cylinder unit goes bad on this one
-When the Center Differential Actuator and ADD leak on this one
-When the Dash cracks on this one
-You're now in the wrong sub-forum

Its a pretty 5th Gen Congrats!On a side note, did you really have all those problems with your vehicle?

I hear ya on dealing with other peoples pos's and their problems. I really like the looks of the new 4 runner a lot. Looked at a couple but cant pull the trigger because I have a couple of campers and the newest one tax's the V-6 on the hills. Eventually we are going to be looking at an even bigger camper so I think I'll need at least a 1/2 ton to 3/4 ton depending on what we get. Tat could all change though.

I did the same thing in May. Traded my 03 V8 on a 14 Limited. I was one of the biggest complainers about the 5th gen not having a V8 since they came out in 2010. I can now say that I do not really miss the V8 as much as I thought I would. Other than better very low rpm torque the V6 in the 14 is just as strong. My 03 had a leaking transfer case actuator ($2500 fix) that was getting so bad I had to top of the case at less than ever 1k miles. My speedometer quit working about a year ago and I never fixed it. Right before I traded it in it started working again. Also the 4runner needed new tires. I joked around with my wife about trading it in before we spend a dime on it after 11 years. My 03 was the best vehicle I had ever owned. The local Toyota dealer sent me a email about a 2014 Limited they had marked down so I went down to see what they would offer me on trade in on my 2011 Avalon and my 03 4runner. They made me an offer I could not refuse and I traded in both vehicles on the new 4runner. Hopefully my new one makes me as happy as my old one. So far so good.

Looked at that route. I like them a lot but I have 3 young kids who are getting into sports and they are hard on the interior of vehicles. My t4r carpet has had to be steam cleaned twice now and the seats while they have seat covers take a beating. Not an excuse but at the price they are going for I could get a new pickup so I can just throw their stuff in the back. Also would work if we went with a 5th wheel camper. Definitely not out of the question though.

Not to sidetrack this… but since BlackWorksInc has chimed in and posted most of potential issues with 4Runners and considering his “inside” knowledge of Toyota service department, I have to ask:
I have done some research about FJ Cruisers and it appears that they have a lot less “common issues” than 4Runners do… especially high point for me is that no head gasket issues with their V6… so “BlackWorksInc” can you tells us if my research correct or I just imagining that FJ is more true to Toyota quality than 4Runner?

There's a few recalls for the FJ Cruisers; i.e. reinforcement brackets for the doors to fix a possible issue with seatbelt assemblies pulling out. I think there's a recall for the factory fog lamps, another one if you get them with LT Tires and TRD rims from the factory (new TPMS module & door stickers).
The 6spd Manuals are notorious for internal issues that are sometimes covered under TSBs. You're right about the head gasket issues since they made the FJs in '07 (we all suspect the issue is endemic to '05 and older 1GR-FEs), the 2009 and older units are prone to "fender cracking" (I haven't seen this personally, but researched it when my friend bought an '07 recently) which was corrected in 2010 when the frame was updated to the pretty much identical J150 platform.
They have their share of issues, no more than the 4Runner in my opinion as many are either minor or easily fixed under warranty. But the reality is that the FJ has much of the same running gear as the 4Runner, so any issues similar with a 4Runner (i.e. the master cylinder for example) are potential failure points on the FJs.
