FJ coils/5100s lift lean?

Just completed the 4x4 FJ coil lift 5100s on all 4 corners set on 1.75”. I’m happy with the lift and it’s exactly what I was looking for! Question is the entire left (driver) side of the car is 1” lower than the passenger side. Is this due to the gas tank lean? But it wouldn’t be a complete inch would be on the front and rear?

I’ve snapped some pictures of the overall look and the coil seating (front passenger and driver passenger). Looks like the drive side might be compressed a little more on the top hat but that could be cause the coil ending is on the other side where I not snap a picture of?

Thoughts?

Small shake at 50-60 mph then it disappears, gonna change tires from front to rear to see if this resolves it. Next step will be get them to rebalance.

Typical lean. I have the exact same set up. I installed an OME trim packer in the rear and it helped. It still leans about 1/2" to the drivers side.

Just noticed I never updated this. Since the lift I have replaced front and rear brakes and rotors, noticed the front cv shafts where busted on the outer end (both sides). Went ahead and replaced those and the shake is gone.

Waited a little bit to see if anything would settle, measurements are below. I don't believe the rear FJ coils are seating correctly in the rear (onto the axle, the coil seems to not be wide enough to lay into the slot). Will take picture of this tomorrow. Was anyone else FJ rears like this?

Driver Front: 36 3/4"
Driver Rear: 36.5"

Passenger Front: 37.5"
Passenger Rear: 38"

In the third pic, looks like your coil is in upside down. Definitely isn't seating with that upper spring isolator properly.

tiered? Can fix this my going up a clip on the driver's side on your 5100s. Add an OME 10mm spacer in the back. I am getting ready to put in some 6112s and will be doing this exact thing.

I'm almost certain that it isnt upside down but i will double check this, if indeed it is correct any idea what i can do to get it to seat correctly on the top hat?

I can see from driver to passenger side the spring at the top if a little more bunched.

Pics of the front coils. The last two of are the passenger front the one with the weird top hat placement. I purchased a 1/4” top spacer for the driver side to help move the measurements close to even. Just snapped some pictures for reference while rotating the tires

Just did this lift (0.85" clip) over the weekend and was similarly disappointed in the lean. Seems like I've seen a lot of posts where doing this work squared things up. I'm only a day into mine, so hopefully there's something that I find this week that improves it, but otherwise I'll be looking into spacers as well.

Don't get me wrong, the truck looks fantastic with the setup. :thumb3:

I haven't. I did find a pair of rear springs from an FJ and put those in last week to see if it made a difference. I will say that they inspire a lot more confidence in the way they fit into the perch, but they didn't resolve the lean at all. It's still a mystery to me that I put new suspension at all 4 corners and it doesn't sit level (or at least close). At this point I'm probably going to order a 1/2" spacer for the rear drivers side and try that. Not sure that I have any other options at this point, unless I just messed something up in the front setup. Seems that there's a chance that I'd need to put a spacer in the front as well with the pronounced lean. Curious what you find if anything and I'll try to report back when/if I get something in there that fixes it.
