Ok cool. I might consider fab'n extensions or maybe just save up for icons, camburgs, radflos... I'll post my build when I get the kit, been holding off just in case Rough Country has a sale on Black Friday or Cyber Monday haha, anyone know if they will?

Oh by the way, I've heard some FJ cruisers with the Rough Country 6" lift kit complain about driveshaft vibration after installation, is this an issue with this kit installed on our 4th gen 4runners?

I looked up this shock extender you mentioned, heres the link Shock Extenders (05 & UP Tacoma)

So is the reason you fab'ed rear shock extenders is because of different thread pitch for the toytec shock extenders?

On their Toytec website they mentioned it fits TRD bilsteins shocks with M10x1.25 thread pitch, but they have a drop down box option to change the tread pitch to M10x1.5 to fit Bilstein 5100s?

So will I still need to fab if I just ordered these Toytec M10x1.5 Shock Extenders?

The problem with the FJ is that the driveshaft is ever so slightly to short and the pinion angle can give some slight vibration. Ours is a little longer I believe. Also, if you get the vibration you could get adjustable Trac bars for the rear and adjust your pinion angle.

The difference is the actual size of the stud on the top of the shock mount. The fj and 4Runner have a much bigger stud on top vs the Tacoma

I really want to check out how this kit handles on/off road. Let me know if you ever go wheeling so i can join. I'm hesitant to pull the trigger but am more convinced after reading the FJ forums. The users there seem pretty content with these kits.

I have a set of the Tacoma extensions I made mine using all thread cut to size and loctited into the proper size nut. Now here's where the tricky stuff happens. You won't find the proper pitch threads and toytec does the same thing as I did. You have to retap the lower half of the nut for the top of the strut to make it work.

Nice rig!! Can you you take or post a profile shot of your wheels and tires against the truck? Considering going the 33" - 35" tire route on 20's. RC lift may also be in the future as I'm looking to redo my setup.

Both sizes are very doable with the rc 6" just gotta watch how the offset. When I had 35's I needed to use a 1" spacer because the inside of the tire rubbed on the frame at full lock. Once I added those I was good unless you really stuff the tire hard off-road. I'm also running 18x9 with 5" backspacing I had 35x12.50's. I dropped to a 325/60r18 now it's like 33.8 or something they look ok but I think best size if you're looking for something with no issues is gonna be in the 34" range. Good luck

Why? They use them on everything. Where's the big scare? People flat out wheel the shit out of them too. Dodge, Ford, chevy, Nissan, Toyota, everything that's ifs. It's nothing to be scared of.
