FJ rear springs on 5th gen 4Runner?

Has anyone done it? Did it create any lift? I have heard that they are a bit taller than the 4Runner springs. I think I'll be trying it in the next month or so, if I don't hear that they make it even lower... Lol

Hi Matt, found a link that might be helpful. It seems that due to the heavier weight of the 4Runner, the net effect on height would be negligible.

Thanks for that! Read it a while ago. One guy said the fj springs are I believe 2 inches taller than the limited 4Runner springs. When we pull the springs off and put them next to the fj ones. If the fj ones are longer, I'll put those in. Planning billy 5100s for the front.

I put 5100s at .85 on the front and in the back too. Originally put 3/4" spacers in the back but it was too high for
My tastes. I ended up swapping it for OME 10mm spacers and am happy with that setup. It's a very subtle lift.

They are not 2" taller. Should be very similar...like mm differences.

And just because springs have different heights doesn't mean you'll get different heights out of them.

I read a thread where the guy had both... Are the limited springs shorter than the sr5 or trail I wonder... I may just try the fj ones because I already have them, so why not.

Limited should be the same. It's your time so do whatever. I think you'll get done doing all this and it will be for nothing.

Well thanks again for your input. If I'm pulling all the suspension off anyways, might as well just check and experiment. I don't even care to much if it doesn't give lift.

I am running the OME FJ springs (2895E) in the back of my '15 TE to eliminate the rake with Toytec 600# springs in the front. Leveled stance, and gained about 2.5" in the front.

Cpl pics of mine with 14 FJ springs all around with 51s f & r, front 2.5 with a rancho level spacer 1 1/4 in my eyeball says rear higher but measure is 1/2 over with a load perfect ! Got em for free so why the hell not , I did read all that [MENTION=45399]thebwlife[/MENTION] wrote WAY back when also . But it does give the appearance of being a bit taller n rear IDK whatta think ?

Real hard to tell without a tape measure in the pic, but it does seem to be a little bit higher!

Actually went back out after taking those & it was 1 inch more in rear so their taller for sure ! Gonna jack it back up make sure in correctly ! WTF

I am sure th FJ springs will ride higher. My question is without the rear spacer just changing spring for spring how much higher and does it give you any more load carrying capacity. I carry about 400lbs extra in my truck all the time and don't want it to have the saggy rear and the nose dive in the front. Will put 5100s on when I find the correct springs.

I swapped the entire suspension from my 2007 FJ over to my 2013 TE 4-Runner. Icon coilovers, Icon billet UCA's, Icon remote resi rear shocks, ToyTec rear springs, Sonoran Steel LCA's, and Sonoran Steel rear panhard bar. Although I didn't measure either of them the lift appeared to be about the same for both vehicles with that suspension.

Its more a question of spring rate, than just spring height...

I dont know the spring rate of an FJ spring, but I use a 260lb spring in the rear now that has a 2" lift... I was coming from a 180-200lb spring.

When I load it up with 200-400lb worth of gear, it rides very nice, controlled and without that loose in the knees feeling.

I even like the stiffer ride unloaded too in the city.
