FJ shift knob

Will the automatic shift knob from an FJ fit on an 06 sport ? Its got a nice beefy feel to it .

I tried a shift knob search , but to no avail.

Hmmm...don't know about the thread size, but my unsubstantiated guess would be that it would fit. Toyota uses many identical parts throughout different platforms and I wouldn't be surprised.

I found a nice pick for looksies (dang, looks like you can club someone over the head with it)...

They must be easy to remove because I remember sitting in an FJ at a car show and the shift knob was gone - either Toyota removed it themselves ahead of time or someone snagged it

Yeah, pretty much readily steal-able. I'm surprised how easy it is to unscrew the 4runner's shift knob off. Just a metric threaded rod, no cotter pin, no screw, nothing.

Now I'm curious myself. Went out to my coworker's Taco PreRunner autotrans at lunch and unscrewed his shift knob and it fit onto my SE. Same metric thread size and pitch. So I guess these things are interchangeable. I would guess it would be no different for an FJ knob on a 4runner.

yes, scratched my shift knob and I am looking for a new one as well. There are a few TRD leather knobs on ebay for 83.99 and 10.99 shipping, but forget that, I will go to the dealer and ask about these FJ shifters in the morning. I like the way they look as well.

When I was at the dealer the other night I was playing in an FJ and the shifter felt pretty nice and beefy . I was just a stock shifter , it didn't have FJ on it at all , like the one in the first pic.

Greg , at the auto show they pull out anything that is easily removable like shift know , and such things like that.

That whole FJ thing is growing on me......

While I was at the dealer getting my alignment I went to the parts counter and talked to my good friend about the FJ shifter knob. The FJ automatic shift knob is 72.02 plus tax and the part number is 33504-35090-BO. (that thing is like a foot long)

The silver shifter is 118. at http://www.fjcruiseraccessory.com/fjcrin.html

The TRD leather shifter knob is close to the same price, 76.41 plus tax. Part number PT901-36303-00, That is the one with the metal piece at the bottom, some people on this site have them and I think they look pretty good.

There is another TRD shifter knob with out the metal piece at the bottom, its part number is PTR04-00000-05 and it is 76.41 plus tax as well, but again does not have the silver piece at the bottom.
