FJ Spring Question

I live in the Houston area and there is a guy selling them on craigslist, 150 for the front coilover and 100 for the back springs.
I was able to talk the guy down to 150 for both

Just so you have a price comparison. If you live around the area I will keep a look out for you....

Check ebay or even salvage yards? I was thinking about ordering them from toyota if I could not find any, would probably cost a arm and a leg... I had to order a front left engine bay cover for the wheel bay today and it cost over 50$.... such crap.

Hey man look great!!! Get the shocks off of Toyota FJ Cruiser Community and you can get a great deal. I got the shocks and springs from a guy on that site and they were off the FJC trail edition and I paid $30 for both. If you get a spacer Toytec has great prices on theirs. I paid $60 for mine now I just need to install it!!

Quick question, should I use the fj rear shocks or just the springs with my oem shocks?

I thought I saw a post a while back discussing the differences in the 3 FJ shocks....Tokico's vs. Bilsteins. I haven't been able to find it since though. Does anyone have any insight or experience with the different types? Are the Bilsteins that much better? Is it a ride quality issue, or just more geared to off-road? Thanks.

Can't really say which is best, but I think this is the post you are looking for, posted by TC4Rnr in jpless's build thread:
"IIRC, FJC's come with 3 different suspension setups, all the coils are the same:

1.) standard: black Tokico shocks


2.) TRD off-road: sliver Bilstein shocks


3.) Trail Edition: red Bilstein shocks."
