FJ Summit 2015

I was going to Ouray on Tuesday for a week until a friend mentioned this was going on when we would be there. Too many trucks will be on the trails for me to enjoy. Cancelled my spot at the KOA just a bit ago.

You guys have fun, I'll be in Buena Vista instead.

CB installed but I don't think I'll have time to get it tuned so hopefully it works ok out of the box and doesn't self destruct. Couple more odds and ends to do. Don't think I'll get to changing the trans fluid either.

There will be a few guys out there with swr meters if you need a tune. Cb's are pretty low wattage and shouldn't damage the radio without tuning, unless your using either no antenna, or one that's not the correct wave length for cb. But, you can potentially double your output range with a good tune.

This is good news! I'll just wait until I'm there then. Surprisingly, nobody around here has one. A friend of mine who owns a trucking company uses a shop in Albuquerque but that's 90 miles from me.

Thank you for posting this!

I'll have my meter with me, be more than happy to help you tune it, I'll be there Tuesday

I didn't get registered in time for the Summit, but I'm in Telluride and would love to tag along with a group for a Saturday run!

Got back yesterday from the FJ Summit. It was my first time going and I was totally impressed by this event. I met folks from all over while there. The trails were perfect and the scenery is unbelievable. I hope I can go again next year. For those on the fence, I definitely recommend it.

Ouch! What trail did you break on? It seems these Toyota ring and pinions break easy. Do the aftermarket ring and pinions hold up better?

Thats the rumor I heard too. Someone said at the first Summit like 7 broke. I believe I should not have to worry once my Yukons go in.

Was that a factory ring gear? Were you locked?

Center Diff Locked. Yes factory 3.73. Yukon 4.10s are going in now and selectable lockers as well. So excited to try it out at the Appalachian Round-Up.

Hopefully you won't have to worry about breaking gears anymore. Did you have to leave it in Ouray or did you tow it home? I've blown up my fair share or diffs (not toyotas) so hopefully I can swap gears before I have to live through that again.

I'm glad you had fun and sorry about your gears. I'm the one with the TRD Pro - we stopped by to see how you and Nathan were doing.

We had an absolute blast and will definitely be attending next year. There were 4 TRD Pros there this year....TRD brought a brand new white one, our black one, and two Infernos.

The highlight for me was Black Bear Pass!

Question for those that attended the Summit. Where did everybody put the grill badge that was in the swag bag? I can't decide if I want it on the grill, roof rack, inside, on the tailgate, or...............

Also, what is this little doohicky for? It's kind of like a little rubber change holder. It was in the swag bag as well. I don't see it on Pure FJ Cruiser.com either. I put a quarter next to it for size reference.
