Who's going to try and make it??

This year will be my first year. That's assuming I can get a registration spot. I hear they go quickly. I've been trying to make this event since I had my '08 FJ.

I'll be there.....haven't missed one yet; although I don't know if I'll be in my 4-Runner or my SAS'd FJ (depends on whether I'll have any passengers riding with me).

Sounds great. Do registration spots go as fast as I've heard?

I'll be passing through Dallas on my way up there.

Yes they do, but if you put your name on the wait list (assuming you don't make the initial cut) there's a pretty good chance you could still get in since a number of folks that manage to register initially wind up not being able to make the trip and cancel their registration.

I will do that for sure. I have vacation scheduled and a place to stay booked so hopefully I can get a spot.

it's a lot of hype for easy trails, and a lot of people.
Beautiful scenery for sure.
I've heard that registration goes in minutes, as in if you wait 5 you're S.O.L.

I was able to secure a spot for the Summit!! Looking forward to this trip. It will be my first time out West and in the rocks.

Good for you. Barring some unforeseen emergency I'll be there. It's an easy trip for me since we have a place in Crested Butte and it's only a little over 2 hours from there to Ouray. I don't do the organized runs though; haven't for a number of years. I usually take some of the folks that put the Summit on out on runs. We usually have some VIP's that are there with us as well as some of the vendors. We usually wait till the last runs have been out for a good while in order to minimize the chances of running up on them on whichever run we've chosen to do (although we inevitably do wind up catching them). Then on Saturday I'll take one of the disabled Vet's from Grand Junction that the Summit invites to attend for the day with me. The Summit started doing this several years ago and it's been a big hit with the veterans that wind up coming over for the day.

Man that's great. I love the idea on the Vets!! Are yall going to do any evening/night runs or a run on Sunday after the event? I'd be interested in either. I'll also have an extra seat if there is anyone else that wants to ride. Hope to see you there!!!

Don't have any plans to do a night run and I'll head back to Crested Butte early on Sunday so I won't be hanging around. Truth be told, the only reason I go to the Summit anymore is because the person that came up with the idea to honor the Vet's and have them participate is a friend of mine to I make it a point to show up and be a part of that portion of the weekend. That and the fact that the folks that put it on are friends.
