just like the title asks...will regearing my rear axle fix the issue of the weak pinion? I've already stripped a set of teeth on a 3rd member pushing my 35s. the plan has been to find a 5th gen or FJ axle to swap in, but I also want to regear. I was talking to a guy last night who has a GX on 38s they're still on the stock rear 8" axle, but had it regeared to 4.88. they've not had any issues and they wheel it pretty good.
will a regear make that weak point go away? or should I still grab an 8.2 from somewhere?
