Joining the FJC Steelie movement.

Sun was finally out so I could get some clear pics.

Wow, those look great. I'm getting ready to have my tires taken off (they will be sold) and then I'm going to paint my FJC rims. What kind of paint did you use? Did you prime first?

I love the gray wheel with the black center cap and black lug nuts. That's exactly what I'd like to do.

I'm curious too since I have to repaint my white wheels since they haven't held up very well to the abuse they get on the trails. I used self-etching primer and duplicolor matching paint. I'm thing the duplicolor was a poor choice.

Prep was key. Clean grease free. Light sand to the face of the wheel (nothing crazy)

Then I used Bulldog adhesion promoter. Then I used Rustoleum Professional. Went through two winters with no issues.

Thanks, I didn't use any adhesion promoter so I'll give that a try when I repaint them in the Fall.

I'll have to try that. Did you sand or use wire brush? And did you paint the back side of the wheels, too?
