just installed a flowmaster 4o last week and the drone is gettign to me, so im thinking maybe a resonator tip would help, theres a sale on this resonator tip but its 2in inlet and 2.5in outlet and my pipe is 2.5in. would a smaller resonator tip help the drone or will it make it worse.

Resonators should always help eliminate drone, but keep in mind that depending upon your set up, the drone may or may not be at a frequency that is affected by the resonator. In other words, it will probably help, but you might have to do some "trial and error" to make sure you cure your drone problem.

That's the biggest problem with aftermarket mufflers...the drone can get especially annoying if it occurs at a "cruising" RPM.

Flowmaster! they are made to drone, man. A resonator helps obviously but it needs to be 2.5" in and out.

instead of cut a part of the pipe out and pitting a resonator in, can i just add as resonator tip? or will that do nothing at all.

Sounds like you are having too many problems...

maybe you should just cut out your flowmaster, send it to me and Ill send you my stock one!!
