Flowmaster interior noise

hey guys,

i did a search on flowmaster and didn't find too much about interior noise (or about flowmasters in general besides people saying they want them)

for those that own them, what is the interior noise level like? can you carry on a conversation without yelling or having insane interior noise?

I want that v-8 tone but if it's going to get old (having to talk super loud inside the car that is), i'd like to hear other options.

I got a magnaflow on mine, my buddy has the same one on his xterra and sounds quieter inside the car. So I feel like sound from the muffler travels into the cabin fairly easy. I like the sound of mine, it sounds good when you start it and is pretty loud when you get on the gas, even just a little bit. But cruising down the freeway, as long as your not accelerating, you can hardly tell its there. I was debating between magnaflow and flowmaster, chose magnaflow for their straight through design and high quality materials and construction. I would reccomend it to anyone.

i should have been specific though, i meant for the v-8...

any v-8 owners that would chime in...i would be grateful!

i just got a flowmaster deltaflow 40 put on last month on my 03 v8 SE.

the in cabin sound is loud enough to be noticed but after awhile you tune it out. i just wanted a mild sound so i had them leave on the resonator which helps with the cabin noise. overall though, i enjoy it, very throaty sounding.

i can record some stuff tomorrow night for you if you want.

I got the flowmaster series 40 but I did a short exhaust that just comes right of the muffler but it is causing a lot of resonance and annoying amount. Besides a new muffler do you guys know any solutions for this?

Flowmaster has awesome sound but it's a given with interior noise and drone. They have always been that way.

No matter how hard you try you won't get a V6 to sound like a V8 . Atleast I've never heard it. I can always tell a V6 no matter what exhaust it has. Just going from my years of experience with the Mustang crowd.

No I'm sorry I do not , like I said it's a Flowmaster trait. The only thing is I know Flowmaster makes a Delta series that is supposed to have less drone and they also have other mufflers too, maybe give them a call or check the website.

Otherwise you may have to try different mufflers until you find one thats acceptable to you.
