FLUID change in transfer case and both differentials

I am getting ready do do a full fluid change, any recomendations? Anything that may warrand better MPG's?

I just did the same. I use castrol syntec 75w90.

I did all the fluids except coolant when I first got the vehicle. I'm in Phoenix AZ and went with with 80W90 full synthetic - is there much of a difference between 75W90 and 80W90?

Not really , most of the synthetics you find are either 75w90 or 90w140.
Ive always used castrol oils with great luck.

The gear oil I used was Valvoline Durablend 80W90 synthetic blend. The truck doesn't leak at all. I used Castrol full synth (5W-30 I think) motor oil the last time I changed the oil. I'm using a 5-6,000 mile oil change interval with the full synth. It seems to work fine.

With the transfer cases and transmission - what kind of interval do you use - 25,000 miles or two years? My truck is "high" mileage (quotes due to high for a Plymouth and high for a Toyota are two different things) at 170,000. I use 4WD occasionally, but out here, most trails are doable in 2WD.

Doesnt it say on the Oil cap to use 10W-30 Oil on the V6? Mine does. Or is it ok to use Synthetic 5W?

I could go 10W30 dino, but I'm fairly sure 5W30 full synth will work just fine. I have good, steady oil pressure and no leaks.

Hello, I'm looking to change the fluids in my t-case, front diff, and rear diff. The oil is fresh and the tranny fluid was recently done. I have a 1990 v6 auto. I'm just curious as to what volumes and types of gear oils I should use for all three components. Also, What size sockets do I need? I spent about 2hrs searching and only found info on the newer gen 4runners. Any help will be much appreciated! Thank you!:frog:

I don't know how it works in other vehicles but castrol is the best I've ever used for transfer cases
