Fluids- what synthetic engine oil? Trans fluid question-

Just picked up a '05 4WD V8 AWD with 65k miles, and have some questions-

I'd like to start running synthetic oil, from my search it appears that 10-30 is the best weight. What about brand? I like Mobil 1, other reccomendations?

Also, I just ordered a transmission filter and pan gasket to do a transmission fluid change (I believe this is a "sealed" transmission, but I like to change my fluids often). I'll be using OEM trans fluid.

Any suggestions for me?
