Hello all!!

I have been lurking on your site for some time. You all have provided a wealth of information for me as I hunt for my next truck. I currently own a Chevy 3/4 T. We needed the p/u as we pull a 5th wheel camper a little. We are selling the camper and I am out to buy something smaller and more economical. I don't, however, want some sissy mom-mobile!
I have owned several Toyotas in the past, '85 p/u; 94 p/u; 93 4Runner; and 98 4Runner, and I knew I wanted to return to the fold. The 4th gen. styling leaves a lot to be desired, but there is so much quality and capability I just couldn't say no! I am now looking for the perfect one. V8 Sport. Silver.
If anyone has any last minute advice/info I could use, please don't hesitate to give me a holler!

I liked the 4th generation styling from the first time I saw one. Have you noticed that a lot of the upcoming redesigned SUVs are headed in the same general styling direction as the 4Runner? Harder lines and edges seem to be the next big thing, much like the styling direction of cars in the last couple of years.

One thing that I have never liked about the 4th generation 4Runner is the squared-off wheel wells. Whoever thought of that should be shot! It reminds me of someone trying to shove a round peg in a square hole!

Then again, a lot of SUVs and trucks are have "square" wheel wells these days, so I guess the 4Runner will fit in. I still think it looks stupid, though....

Definitely wait for the newer V8 come January 2005. That extra HP would just be a bonus for the already capable V8. Also check out http://www.carbuyingtips.com for a lot of really good tips. I'm not sure how the dealerships will deal with you, but that site will help you squeeze as much discounts as possible. I personally know at least 1 other person who used that site and was able to talk themselves into big savings in financing and pricing.

:iagree: with 05 V8 Sport choice. It has more hp and options for future performance upgrade if can afford little more money and waiting time (until Jannuary).

I like Sport edition cause it has X-Reas Sport Enhancement Suspension which can give better handler.

That is sort of my point.... it is hard to find rounded wheel wells on any newly redesigned SUV or truck lately.

But that won't stop me from liking the 4Runner, because I like just about everything else about the styling....

hey there,
when ya get one let me know, im in kc north, not to many from the kc area here, but good people here, lots of info., when you get one, do you plan on taking it off road ? is it gonna be a daily driver ? well good luck in your search.
