Fob/security system question

i bought my 2000 4runner about a year ago and I have suffered with my security/fob. When i got it it defiantly had an after market alarm system, but it was so terrible at unlocking and locking the vehicle that it would randomly set off the alarm. i have cut the wires to that system and now it has zero security which im alright with. i now suffer with having to lock and unlock the vehicle by key. I would just like to know what parts i would need to install a complete factory system, restore it to original. Will the fob that toyota issued to lock and unlock the vehicle work with what i have? Or will i have to get the parts for the toyota security system and such for the fob to work? I dont have the security indicator next to the passenger seatbelt light, i have a small red light left of the steering column that blinked when my crapy security system was hooked up.
