Fog Light Issue

Hi

I've had a HID kit for the fog lights installed for about 4 years on my 06 Sport Edition V8. Its a cheap kit from ebay but it has served me well up till now. I do have a Xenon Depot kit for the lowbeams with no issues up there but the foglights have been giving me a problem lately.

The foglights just recently weren't firing up. On some occasions only one would fire up and then on some other nights only the other one would light up. I relplaced the bulbs with 4300k H11 from Xenon Depot and that still didn't work. Pulled and replaced the blown 15A fuse. Still nothing. One thing I also noticed is that the little green dash indicator light for the fog lights does not even come on now when I switch the fog lights to on.

I'm not sure if its a short somewhere. Or if the HID kit ballasts are fried. Wondering if anyone has ever had an experience like this? The one thing that bewilders me is that the fog light dash indicator doesn't work. Any ideas?

Where you running a relay harness? if not that could have strained the factory wires over time

It sounds like the ballasts to me. You said you got cheap ones, 4 years isn't terrible. Replace the ballasts and see what happens. About the dash light, that's probably just burnt out.

Tonight I will pull the ballast's for inspection and throw on the old 9006 (not H11 as I stated earlier) bulbs to see if fog lights work with OEM.

I am hoping its just a ballast problem. I'll keep you posted. Keep suggestions coming.
