Fog light shield

Today I take a look and my fog light and realize that there is a metal shield built into the reflector that covers the top of the bulb.

For those who install HID into their fog light, do you have to remove the shield because the HID bulb is longer than the standard 9006? or does the HID bulb fit inside the shield fine without any problem?

Thanks for the links but I've looked through them before and found no mention of the fog light shield. I guess that is not really a problem then.

no issues with HIDs on my install.

whatever you do dont remove the shields. You are already going to have excessive glare with the HIDs in your fogs, it will only make it exponentially worse if you remove them.

my HID's were too long, I'm not going to remove shields but still thinking of things that may work
