Folding Mirror kit - anyone try this yet?

How long did it take you? Did you upgrade the puddle lights as well? Those puppies are bright!

I already had the meso puddle lights, cth mirrors and turn signals. The install is lengthy. I had to take apart two mirrors, route a harness through two doors and then tap the power in the kick panel. It was my first install taking my time and many pictures along the way. I would stay from start to finish, ~ 4 to 5 hrs. It was also hella hot today too. I ran into some issues which required some troubleshooting . But it was a great learning experience. I think next time around I could install in two hours.

Do they fold when you put it in park? Or only when you lock the vehicle?

It folds when the truck is armed. It unfolds when it’s dis-armed. but there’s a manual fold button which will fold the mirrors.

A question about it’s operation:
Can you park, retract mirrors, turn off ignition, open doors, get out, close doors, and mirrors stay retracted?
You don’t actually have to lock doors/arm the alarm for them to retract?

When I pull into my small garage and park I do not want to lock the doors, just retract the mirrors.

Ah, I see. That makes sense. I assume you've changed the auto-lock settings on your vehicle then. Mine auto-locks after a certain period of time when the doors are all closed and unlocked, which I like because I don't park in a garage.
I bet there is a way to wire in a manual button you can press to retract the mirrors when you park.

The way this is setup, it triggers off the lock/unlock modes of the truck. So if the truck is on or is in accessary mode, the mirrors are always unfolded.
But you can still manually force it to close by pressing the fold/unfold button.
To answer your first question, when your parked, you can manually fold the mirrors. Then turn off the engine and close door. But once you open the doors, the mirrors will unfold. Not sure why the mirrors will unfold at this point. But once you lock, it folds.
Afaik, there are three modes of operation.
Unlock - unfold
Lock - fold
Accessary/ignition on - manual button will flip mirror condition.

If the mirrors are folded in and someone manually unfolds it, will that harm or destroy anything?
Or if the mirror is open and someone manually folds it in, any damage? Does it recover OK?

OK gents, I'm having serious doubts about this kit right now and I need someone to tell me I'm doing something wrong. I disassembled the passenger side mirror completely and I'm stumped on how the new arm (left) sits into the joint of the mirror (old arm mount circled in the middle). I've seen pictures of other kits (KTJO maybe?) and the bracket that the mirror mounts to in their pictures looks different than mine.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I don't want the mirrors to fold/unfold on their own as I lock and unlock. Can it be set to full manual mode so I can choose when to fold/unfold ?

Interested in knowing if it can be wired to accomplish this. I'd prefer to just operate the fold/unfold by manually pressing the button on the mirror control.
