For anyone waiting on a 17

When i was first looking at 4Runners a couple years ago, the two closest dealers to me had $1,000+ premiums on them!

I'm just amazed how easy I got the dealers to invoice on the 2016 forerunner.

The thing is Toyota is not selling vehicles like they used to so they're going to be motivated to move product and that will probably include the four runners.

I have three dealers near me that have 15 to 20 runners in stock right now.

I just heard on the financial news today that Toyota sales are down now in the U.S.

Two years ago all the same dealers wouldn't even hardly move off MSRP on a 4Runner.

It's definitely a car buyers market.

If a dealership decides to sell a vehicle at invoice that's up to them. No incentives from Toyota are included in that.

I also find it interesting that 4Runner sales year to date compared to last year are up 16%.....
Toyota cars are down and the suvs and trucks are up.

For instance I wanted a Trail, not a TRD Off Road as I do not like TRD crap plastered on a vehicle that gains no real benefit or capability from it.

So I went with a 2016 at the end of the year...but I don't really care what year it is as I plan on keeping it..not hopping into the next shiny thing that pops up 2/3 years from now.

No stock like that near me in South Florida. I can understand discounting a 16. Not many people will buy a 16 so close to being able to get a 17. I sure wouldn't. When you think about resale nobody cares that you bought the vehicle at the end of the model year. It is still that model year.
At least the news you reported sounds like a win for new buyers. Except for they're still not going to discount 17 very much till later in the year if at all. Also depends where you are located I'm sure.

Point taken but not everybody is like us as far as keeping a vehicle for a long time I'm driving a 16 year old truck that I've owned for 14 year. And when I purchase a 17 Runner I'm still not selling my truck it's paid off and treats me good.

There is no badging on the Trail. What makes you think there will be badging on the TRD Off Road? They are the same vehicle. There is no difference between 2016 and 2017. None.

Last I saw (will have to dig on the old thread to find the pics) there was badging for the new '17 TRD OffRoad as well as TRD head rests and floor mats? I could be mistaken but I thought those were the changes listed along with similar Trail wheels except for the inserts being black instead of all silver.

It was a marketing piece so who knows but it was in the first release that was sent out for the '17 4R methinks.

They are still trying to figure out how much more they can charge for some TRD logos they slapped on the Trail without losing sales.

I agree. Their website is terrible. It's outdated, slow and doesn't give much information. I also dislike that sometimes when you try to build a vehicle with a certain color or options, it says this isn't available in your area or out of stock. Just let me build the damn thing the way I want.

Sad to say but Fords website is probably the best out there now.

I'm waiting for the 17 as well. I just hope they don't increase the price on the TRD OR just because of the "TRD OR" label versus the Trail.

Amen to that. I've been checking the RAV and find Toyota's website aggravating as hell. I thought it was me being technology-challenged, but then I go over to Honda's and it's a piece of cake. Unbelievable, the money Toyota spends on national advertising, promos, racing, etc., and to still have such an awful website.

Surprised to hear this ... you've been around long enough to know about Toyota's regional "thing". As long as that is their business model, the website has to respect the region's option choices - hence requiring your zip code. Outdated - like the website.

I stand corrected. TRD shift knob, TRD floor mats, TRD side badging...

I wasn't even talking about what invoice means. I was responding to someone saying they got a dealer down to invoice on a 4Runner and that manufacturer incentives are different.
