Issues
Oil Leak, probably valve cover gasket and semi-circular plugs
Drivers side rear wheel axle leakage, some drunk bastard just clipped that wheel when parked on the st. Not obvious at the time but he apparently jacked up the seal there. I've been driving it for a month after with no problems. Started to notice the RL tire going bald on the outside and while greasing the zerks on the drive shaft I noticed oil/grease all over the inside of the rim. Also starting to hear an occasional funny noise back there.

Was going to sell/trade this for a lot more before I noticed the RL wheel issues. But although its drivable for now I know it needs work. Since I live in the city I don't really need or want a 4Runner anymore (heresy I know).

Bring any offers for cash or a "city car". I'm will to kick in cash on a trade if I like what you have.

Where abouts in sd are you? I live in Orange County and am interested in the 4runner. Have you gotten an estimate to fix the damage? How does it run besides the wheel/tire issue? Does it need anything else besides the locker switch fixed? I'm just trying to figure out how much I'll need to put into it to make it a daily driver. I have a car that I could trade but it's not a great city car (Subaru forester turbo).

New Rear Axle....

So today I sourced an axle from one of the local salvage yards. It is complete with e-locker and actuator. 4.3 gear ration just like the original axle. It will hopefully be in and rolling tomorrow.

This should clear up the drivers rear wheel problem.

The price will go up accordingly.


I'll also have an e-locker 4.3 third member and actuator available soon. This is th eoriginal coming out of the original damaged axle housing.

So I spent today working on the axle swap. Didn't get finished and won't be able to get back for a couple of days. Definitely should be ready by next Saturday at the latest.

New Axle in and 100%

So the new axle is in and the e-locker is functioning 100%.

New price is $3000 obo....

I'm super interested jut don't have 3000$ to put down right now, especially after rolling my 4runner out on proctor valley rd last week
