For those of you running oversized tires

I just unpgraded to 3" body lift plus 33" tires, I was wondering what to do about the jack that comes with the truck. In case of a flat tire, it dosen't even lift the tire from the ground. Do you guys have any ideas for me?

Buy a floor jack and stick it in the cargo area

Honestly, I've had my truck for almost 7 years, and I've never had a flat tire! I did buy an SUV Floor Jack, and use that for most of my work, however, before I had that, I just used a big timber which I would lay on it's side, and would put the old bottle neck on that to jack up my truck.....you could just store a timber in your rig???

You can try it, but I am pretty sure that if you put the jack under the axle and lower control arm it will lift it enough.

I keep a block of wood in my tool box that gives the bottle jack a little more lift.

3" body lift?? yikes that's a lot!

Invest in some body armor (bumpers or sliders) and a hi lift is a great tool for changing a flat when used safely. You might want to check out an x-jack as well, but I have no experience with these.

That's what i did with my 265/75's. Not quite sure that would cut it with the 285's. A block of wood would be enough to offset it, though.

I just realized I made a mistake, it's not a 3" BODY lift it's 3" SUSPENSION lift, sorry for that...

See that's what had me confused cus lifting the body doesn't lift the axles or frame. Bigger tires might make it harder to jack up and spin freely though. Just keep a piece of wood in your truck. I never really thought about it myself but then again I have a hi-lift.

Definitely keep that wood in the car. I got two flat tires within 1 hour one time and was 50 miles from cell service..
