For those running (or have run) 285 Nitto TG's...

I had a few questions for those of you who have run or are currently running 285/70/R17 Nitto Terra Grapplers. I noticed that in that size, you can only get P-rated or LT-rated in load range "E".

I've read that load range E is excessive for lighter trucks that don't tow or have a lot of extra weight (after market bumpers, winches, etc.). I want to go with an LT tire for my next set of shoes for a little more durability off-road. I was all set on the LT285/70/R17 Nitto TG's but they only come in Load range E.

For those of you who have run the Nitto TG's, were you using the P-rated or LT-rated TG's? Did the LT's handle too stiff? I don't want to have to run a tire at 40+psi if I can avoid it. Just wanted some thoughts and opinions from those who have run the LT Nitto TG's. Thanks.

I run the 285/75/16 in load range D. I dont think they are to rough. I know a few others that have run the same as me but in E rated and dont complain to much. I wish I could be more helpfull with the 17" size though.

No worries, thanks Pikeman. Yeah, I noticed that they offer a D load range in some of the 16" rim sizes. It sounds like the 285/17/R17 size is popular enough in the 4Runner, FJC, Taco communities that they would offer one in a D load, but unfortunately they are only available in a E load Range. Same goes for the Revo 2 (that I am also considering).
