found 4runner, good Deal? advice needed

Give them the out-the-door price you want. They can do what they want with the tax and numbers then. I just told them it had to be under 14K out the door and they called me later and said come pick it up.

PS. Might I recommend galactic gray or shadow Mica? It's close to black but hides a little more.

That's been my strategy in the past as well. Now a days, you know exactly what you can buy the vehicle for, so shoot them a price where YOU will be happy and leave it to them to work for YOU! If they want to sell it and can sell it at that price, they will. Especially if you let them know that your price is non negotiable.

I actually don't mind any color that much besides Gold, to turn it down as I am really looking for one in good mechanical condition. I plan to keep it for a long time, that's y ive been trying to find one with low mileage and one thats been properly maintained.

Ive made the offer and they accepted. They sent me a AutoCheck, but Im about to carfax it as well as called toyota and have them run the VIN to check for maintenance work performed. Its only had one owner and was leased. has 39k on it. If all paperwork checks out, flying out to Vegas on Saturday to pick it up.

Carfax and Autocheck looked good. Just have to call toyota and run VIN now.

ADDITIONAL ITEMS:

anything in particular to pay attention to when actually inspecting it and test driving it.

Check:
1. engine for leaks, under the vehicle for leaks and or damage, or rust.
2. inspect XReas for leaks
3. Make sure 4Low engages. Its a V8 4WD.
4. Tires, brakes, interior
5.???

So you dont like Gold either?

5. Check to see if bolts holding body panels under the hood or in the rear where the hatch closes look scratched up, like someone has taken a wrench to them. Good indication if those panels have been replaced from body damage.

Yea not a big fan of Gold, but that has to do with indians all having damn Gold in cars and SUV's out here where I live. (and yes I am Indian)

Thanks for the panel suggestion, will definitely observe that. I am going to make myself a huge checklist of items to check.

I love the white. When I was searching, I wanted either white or black. They are my two favorite. I like every color of the 4runner except gold. But I have seen a few of those tricked out that looked good. The silver is the easiest to keep clean of all of them. But white is easy too. I bought white and love it. It's not difficult to keep clean and it doesn't show scratches like black does. You will be very happy with your choice. Congrats!!

That Edmunds.com seems pretty far off. I really wouldnt go by that. Seems way too low. The best way to know if your getting a deal is to see how much everyone else is selling the same car. Get on Autotrader.com and compare it to what your looking at.

I would disagree with that. I bought my 2009 T4R a few months ago, $3000 back of where it booked out on Edmunds.com. And yes, it is a clean title with no accidents. I shopped hundreds and hundreds of 4Runners on the internet for over a month, and was aware of just about every 2008-09 4Runner listed in the US for sale. I flew 1200 miles away and bought my 4Runner and drove it home.

I was paid with thousands of dollars in savings for my many hours of research on the internet. Great deals exist, but most of the time you have to spend quite a bit of time and effort to find them.

I love white, if I was buying one for me I would get white but the runner is the wifes and she wanted black. I would get whatever color you want, and not worry about the deal because you have time on your side. I dont think it seems like a must do right this second deal. I would wait until you get the color you want but thats just me
