Found a 1st Gen

I found an 85/87 on craigslist today. Its and 87 body on an 85 frame, straight axle and all that good stuff. I was gonna go look at it but I wanted to know what you guys thought should be the main things to check on. The frame was sanded and painted and has no rust, so thats a huge plus. He's running 33s on it and it doesn't say anything about it being re-geared so I'll have to check him on that. Overall it looks nice, black with a black top (that doesn't leak). It does have a body lift though, I would probably remove that.

I saw that yesterday on Craigslist for $3800.

1987 Toyota 4Runner 4X4

It's kind of hard to tell the condition with only one picture. I agree about taking that lift off. It seems like he wants to charge for all the work he has in it (changing frames). It would have to be pretty mint to pay that IMO. But I guess I easily have that in my '89. It's rare to see a presentable 1st gen around here and if it's any good it'll go fast. Let us know what you find.

Yeah, he said it has some suspension lift. And 1st gens are impossible to find like that around here. I'm out of town so I'm praying he still has it when I get home.
