Found A Deal: New rear hatch struts

I just put some Monroe's on mine, 901446. Definitely better than the 16 year old originals, but same thing as other's have said, smaller diameter. Lifts the gate with the window down. We'll see about longevity...but off of Rock Auto they came in at 14 a piece, so worth the risk. Kept the factory in case anyone finds a place to get them rebuilt state side.

Update.

Ordered a pair of 6815. I installed just one side and it lifted the back with no help, fairly fast. I left it at that, just one side. I was slightly afraid how fast it would open with 2 of them on.

40 degrees out.

Happy so far. Get these.

Just had Frank at Strutwise rebuild my OEM rear hatch struts and they're absolute beasts. It ended up costing me ~ $25 to mail them from my work in the US up to Canada, and Frank charged me around ~ $100 to rebuild and ship them back to me. Wish I'd done this back when I first installed my roof rack ladder on the hatch ... these rebuilt struts are a godsend and can't imagine needing to get them rebuilt in the next 15+ years. Definitely worth the money if anyone is on the fence.
