As I am now going through a situation with my 4Runner, here are some thoughts: If you pay that kind of price and something happens to your vehicle (mine was stolen), the insurance company is going to give you book value for the car, they really don't care what you paid for it. You will also have to fight for every add-on.
If you have a winch and bumper that was 1,500 or 2,000 they want to give you the 250 that KBB lists, not the amount you paid.
Mine was recovered damaged, so I still have the add-on's, but before it was recovered, the insurance company was throwing up questions about what would and would not be paid at replacement cost.
Now don't get me wrong, my company has been really good so far, and I have already been re-embursed for my contents under homeowners(same company), and for rent a car to get home, trailer rental to get my vehicle to the shop I wanted, and the tow and storage bills when it was recovered, but they do question everything
It would suck to pay 72,000 for a 47,000 vehicle and have it totaled.
