Found a use for that useless spot under the climate controls

So I had a small dilemma when I installed my locker recently... I didn’t any open spots for the switches. So I Decided to investigate the area under my climate controls. As we all know there is not much room there, but I went at it anyway.

I took a dremel took and cut the pocket off the back of the "storage door" so it was a flat surface, then I cut out the plastic backing which exposed the wiring harness, and other components. With some careful measuring and creative wiring I was able to not only mount the switches to my locker, but also relocate my AIRLIFT 1000 controls to the center.

Its a little rough, and I have already ordered another ""storage door" for my second attempt, but I like the look.

Looks great! I did something similar with the useless sunglasses holder up above, I mounted a dock for my cell phone in it. Lots of room to get custom in these 4th gens. Love em.

it would be cool to have those switches recessed down in that space, facing up.
when you needed to switch it, you pressed it and popped it open. the rest of the time they were concealed..

The OP has a Zip locker not a ARB.

From what I understand the part number is the same for the V6 as it is for the V8.

And yes I have a zip locker... It was cheaper and they have a 6yr warranty.

Agreed, the issue is simply lack of space, and also lack expertise by the fabricator LOL.

it was kinda funny, i kept handing the bag off to my copilot, and then she put it in there and i was like "OHHHH so that's what that's for, take a picture, I'm putting this on t4r when we get home"

I used that space for emergency cash.

I used the upper sunglasses compartment to house a satellite radio receiver. The receiver has an FM modulator that broadcasts on a frequency not used. Worked pretty well. Power up there in the lights, garage door opener, etc.

how much was it?
do you have a part # or a correct name to the door
