So I'm filming a tutorial on how to install the Garmin dash cam at the front and back with the optional 'parking mode cable' and an aftermarket fuse panel under the hood and in the course of removing my dash trim I discovered some very obvious after market modifications. The obvious one was a blinking red light and switch down by my feet which I just assumed was the factory 'hey this car has an alarm' light, but then I noticed a box zip tied to internal frames, in-line splice connectors, excess wire zip tied to others and unprotected wires running into my ignition barrel. I googled the name of the company and obviously I realize it's some sort of security system, but what model? Does anyone recognize it? I bought this vehicle with 4K miles on it and was never given a 'remote' keychain or told there was an aftermarket system that perhaps required an app. I don't want to accidentally arm this system with no way of turning it off, or God forbid the light module with the little joy stick switch is some sort of kill switch and I spend a week trying to figure out how to turn my car back on.

There was at least one other thread about this kind of thing a while ago. Then it was a dealer installed alarm / disable system. Dealer tried to add it in the sale and claimed it was installed at the port. The main purpose was to disable the vehicle if the customer got behind on payments.
Like you the customer wasn't told his wiring was hacked into (and in his case it was a poor job with poor quality splices - a future wiring problem time bomb.
I would check further and see how much of your wiring was hacked into and why you weren't informed. I believe the other poster got the system removed and his wiring repaired at dealer cost - but he had to make a big stink to do so.

Yup.... I was at least one of them and it turns out it is common for dealers to install them without your permission but never tell you about it.
