Found leaking CV boot FIX

Like most, my CV boots were leaking after my lift install. I initially put hose clamps like most people do but at about 55mph I got some slight vibration. Ended up talking to a guy at Checkers and got the DEI heat wrap metal locking ties. You can install 2 of them on the inner side of the boot, I just offset the small metal locking side of the 2 ties. I did this 2 months ago and haven't had a drop of a leak yet, and no vibration what so ever, at any speed.

that is a good idea. My CV boot just started leaking so hopefully this will do the trick. Looking forward to seeing the pics.

That's a good fix if they're leaking from the boot seal. My boot actually tore and pretty bad too. So for now I just have a plastic bag wrapped a few times and 6 zip ties holding it tight. The axle is brand new and I just don't feel like putting another one in. This makes #4 since Aug! But this will work to keep debris out for a while so that the joint itself will stay intact.

Yeah, I had both inner boots tear and I had to replace them, but the outers were good just leaking from the seal on the cv axle, works like a champ! Love the new bumper Jon, I'm looking at these right now: http://bajabumpers.com/ They are just down the road from me so I'd save a ton on shipping.
