For this reason I think the 2.0L turbo is a better engine in terms of power output than even a 300 or 325hp 7GR will be. To compare the NX200t weighs almost exactly the same as the 5th gen 4runner, and is about a full seconds faster 0-60 with less peak hp and less torque. But the hp and tq are at useable rpms.

I've driven a few smaller cars with turbos and love the way they drive compared to a slightly larger displacement NA car.

Not sure the NX 200t and 4Runner is a favorable comparison for the 2.0T vs 1GR-FE. Quick Google search shows the 200t is 850 lbs less than the 4Runner (18%), but only 0.8s faster (10%) than the 4Runner.

However, that's a 4WD Trail vs a FWD NX 200t.

It's interesting that the curb weight of the NX200T was 100lbs less than the MFG spec. How does that happen? The 4runner incidentally was about 50lbs lighter as well.

FWIW, the mass and acceleration differences aren't directly comparable, but upon further investigation, the 1Gr does seem to have a bit more output.

The average power output of the nx200t over the 7.0 seconds is 129hp

The average power output of the 4Runner over 7.8 seconds is about 141hp.

In comparison a GX460 - to get to 60 in 7.9 seconds averages about 158hp.

It would be great to see an overlap of the dyno curves of each engine. I suspect the 1Gr is less up to about 3500 rpms, but we don't have any dyno charts that I'm aware of for the NX200t.
