FOX 2.5 Non Resi Extended Thread? = Lift

Hello,

I have scowered the forums for information about how much preload I should have to properly get a 2.5 lift. I have emailed FOX the following image and cited that it was the correct part, 883-02-025. The rep said that out of the box the factory preset to 2” of lift is 1.925” of threads above the collar. I didnt get the time to measure what the distance is on the struts, but the preload looks much higher than what the rep is said. Maybe I am missing something.

So Im wondering is the best way to understand the amount of lift you can get is by measuring the distance from the collar to the bottom of the strut mount?

Is there no information on threads above the collar to help fine tune it? My reading has shown that it varies from car to car, so that makes sense. Im gonna be installing the suspension with a friend tomorrow and wanted to make sure I adjust the collar to the correct amount. For added information, I only have sliders and a roof rack currently. I may add a bumper/winch later down the road, but for now I am content with the stock front. That being said I know that the driver side may need an additional 2-3 threads exposed to compensate for the driver lean. Really excited either way. :whoo:

Also I picked up the 2.5 rear as well with resi which is rated at 1-1.5in of lift. If I were to put a 2in lift spring on the rear then it is my understanding that the spring will limit the travel of the rear strut. I dont want to over extend the strut with the unmatched spring or am I wrong in my thinking and that the spring wont limit the travel?

I dont have additional weight in the back currently but when my fiancée and I are out rockhounding/camping we have an added 50-60lbs.

If the shock reaches its maximum length then it will top out, only then it will hurt the shock. and mounts 1/2 inch difference in rear shock a spring should be okay.
Edit: limiting straps or right height shocks is'preferable.
