No I'm not suggesting that at all and in fact stated that in my first response.

Which is why I chose to quote your second response. In that one you insinuated that the cabin filter couldn't be trusted because of the poor construction of their oil filters. Since you didn't give any actual reason that we could not trust said cabin filter, we can only assume that you are predicting some kind of failure that would cause enormous amounts of harm like an oil filter failure would.

I'm only saying that a company that make such garbage products like their oil filter won't get any of my hard earned money.

Any filter that "meets or exceeds oem spec ". Toyota, Wix, Baldwin, probably a few others.

I only use Toyota filter in mine. Napa Gold and Wix are also good filters.

I have a Fram fresh breeze cabin filter in my truck right now, I've used them in all 3 of my 4Runners, never had a single issue. It's an air filter

One thing to consider when choosing an air filter is pleating, meaning the number of folds across the face of the filter. Most filters are about 1" thick, and obviously if they are made to fit, are all the same width and depth. If you choose a filter with more pleats, it will have a larger total surface area, and it will provide maximum air flow for a longer period of time before it's used up.

It's not a critical part, but a nice feature to have, so I like to get the most bang for my buck in this scenario, versus something like an oil filter or engine air filter, which I'll spend more to get a premium brand, usually OEM.

I bought a 2 pack from Kootek on Amazon for $12. 23 pleats for $6.

Yeah, you can see in the photo the aftermarket filters that I purchased have fewer pleats than the OEM part. I'll be looking at that detail more closely, the next time I am ready to buy.

It’s not, but like pretty much anything, being a little educated can’t hurt before making a purchase.

Sometimes the most expensive products out there aren’t the best, and I know first hand it can be frustrating learning that you’ve been buying shit for years.
