So I am new and am thinking seriously about buying a 4Runner. By that I mean its either that or a Sienna. Thank God my wife finally saw what I did in the 4Runner.

Anyway I am looking for time to buy. Maybe some advice on some used ones. Say 2009 and up. Rebates, discounts (I'm millitary by the way), things like that. Either way if I can't find exactly what I want used I'll just get a brand new one Limited.

From my past experience mil discount is pretty pathetic, but YMMV. Private party IMO is the way to go especially if its still under factory warranty. Way back when I bought mine with 25k on the clock and then quickly added a 7yr/100k warranty for $850 from a dealer on the east coast.

I looked at carmax but focused on autotrader and craigslist at the time. And, if you don't find what you want then like you said go new. But, there are soo many 4runners for sale at any given time, especially if you are willing to drive a little bit or even fly out.
