i saw there's a ML in one of the pic, is that belonging to your family? how's that ML treat you guys? my mom's one is a POS..... i do love euro but that ML is just too much more like a Ford to me....

Very nice!! I have the (aftermarket) aux cable coming out from the center console box. This way when you don't use the MP3 you can leave it in the console and don't have the cable hanging out.. When I use it, I leave the MP3 in the very small compartment left to the shifter, easy to reach, etc..

I was actually thinking of doing that originally but I wanted to try this way to see how I like it, how did you run it through the console box, did you cut a hole?

Ok now,lose the running boards and install sliders and go get some pics off road doing what 4Runners do best. :bigok:


Not so sure of those bumper guards since those do similar damage to the brush guards if pressed in they spread the damage out. I think those things just protect the bumper from being scratched or bumped when back on the road.

Mine could use one but off road I might be concerned if it dragged coming on/off an obstacle and doing more hurt than good.

Yeah that is my mom's ml and I swear that thing is just problem after problem, currently it is stuck I'm park and will not move outta it, before that it was a $1200 hydraulic pump that failed

I want to buy some sliders but I'm debating where to get them from, was thinking about schrockworks but I'm concerned about lead time since I still haven't received my front bumper and I ordered it in may!!! Any other companies?

Regarding the collateral damage of the bumper guard - I thought the same things but my bumper has already suffered more than enough damage on and off road and needs to be replaced if I suffer anymore so that's why I got the guard until I find a aftermarket steel bumper that I like and has about the same looks as the schrockworks ones, any suggs?!

Do you ride with the laptop all of time? It seems to me the IPOD and GPS are redundant. Couldn't all that be handled by the laptop which would clean-up the cabin? A simple bluetooth GPS antenna, some GPS mapping software and plumb the music into the aux jack by installing a second input in or near the glovebox.

Then the IPOD and GPS could be 'stored' elsewhere in the vehicle and the wires 'tucked-in' for when the laptop decides to blue screen on you. Just a thought...
