friends 4runner

I've seen alot of you guys with the jacked up ones and everything but how about one thats set up thug style .
oo ya forgot to add the details. i think he added the hood and keyless entry no handles grill 22'' spinners 9 tv's tinted windows clear brake lights and a few other things. he added around 60k worth of add ons ;\. (lemme hear some ideas on things that could make it better or at least get your opinion )

well where i live theres alot of thugs so alot of people like to fix there cars up with rims and systems and stuff. the guy that owns that 4runner owns his own club and has a side buisness so he puts alot of money into his car. its more of a teenage street car type thing i guess.

IMHO, I would rather spend the money on performance mods rather then exterior dressing. To each their own, I guess.

Thanks for the info on image station, I may use it once in awhile. When I used Monty Pics, someone was able to go into their site and put different pictures in. I would have a picture of a 4Runner on this site and instead a naked lady with a Web Site would show up. 3/4 of my pictures were changed in about 4 days. I e-mailed Monty Pics several times and got no response. One week after they fixed the problem, they started charging. So we all need to be wary out there.

Yea i admit it is a bit much for a 4runner but i think the main erason he did it is because theres no other 4runners in our town that are "hooked up". Most people around here get explorers or suburbans or either just end up getting a car. Im 17 and i dont realy have the money for a 4runner so i think im gonna end up getting a 94 caprice and have a little bit of fun with it.

a little off the wall but after reading some post i noticed people saying stuff about 3rd and 4th generation 4runners. Whats all that about? Only know 2-3 people with 4runners so I dont know to much about them.

There are 4 generations of the 4Runner. The 4Runner has been out for awhile. The 3rd generation had a I-4 and a 3.4 V6, the 4th generation has a 4.0 V6 and a V8. The 3rd generation ran from 96 to 02. I tried to post a picture of all generations and the forum wouldn't let me do it.

When a model comes out, after a few years the company wants to up-date it, but they still keep the name. The Corvette has been around since the 50's, but we all know the 66 Corvette is not like the 03 Corvette right?

The Toyota Corolla started out as a rear wheel drive and about 8 generations you see the what we have now.

Sometimes the car company decides to drop the car name and come up with a new car and a new name. Since the 4Runner has such a good reputation and following a new generation was brought out.

By the way I consider the 66 Corvette way better than the 03 Corvette, I consider the 66 Corvette one of the best cars ever made.

pimp .. you need your front windshield tinted if your other windows are black out ... I have 5% on my front two and 5% over 15% on the rest .. and 35% mirror on the front windshield .. impossible to see in the back of my 4runner but if u hood ur hands u can see in the front two .. and real hard to see if someone is in it on the front windshield .. all u can really see is the steering wheel and shit .. im thinkin of gettin some 22's .. mines an 00 limited .. silver .. ill try to post some pics soon

that must be really dark! where do you live? you havent gotten a fix it ticket for that yet? and that would be pretty obvious on a silver 4runner. considering the contrast in color. all i know is. if i were to do that. id get a fix it when i leave my neighborhood. (sheriffs station down the street) i wish i could black out my black runner like that.

No tickets yet. I live in Chattanooga, TN. My brother has done the same thing to his 98 jeep grand cherokee laredo and 02' mustang GT. He has gotten 1 or 2 tickets for it but it was only when he got pulled over. Blackin out the runner is awesome. The feeling you get when you can just stare at people and nobody can see you at all. It's great.

side effect of having it that dark.

1. cops have gun drawn since they cant see you
2. so dark thieves cant see there is nothing inside, so they break the windows anyway
3. hard to backup at nite
4. other drivers cant see your intentions which could lead to accidents
5. you could be at fault automatically during an accident due to the dark tint since its would be an impairment for you (not related to #4)

Yes .. a few of the things you posted are true .. it is hard to backup at night unless you roll the windows down .. and as far as the whole theifs breaking in because they cant see in is so not true, nobody is gonna break into your car if they cant see what they are going for. He's not just gonna guess and break in and be unsuccessful and take a chance at getting caught (unless hes really really stupid).. unless he is tryin to steal your car then it is a different story ..... and where did you hear you could be at fault because ur windows are tinted too dark? The law says nothing about ur back windows being tinted .. you could paint them black and its not against the law...

But as you said .. It's hard to back up if you just got them tinted really dark .. takes a few weeks to get used to .. and its illegal and you could get a ticket .. only problem i have had w/ them is when i first got it done, backing up at night.

im just saying that you could be at fault if they think the tint is an impairment to you being able to see correctly since its not original equipment.
