Friggin plows!! Need new front bumper cover

Are plows not responsible for the damage they cause?

I'd just go stock with the valence, unless you had plans to go to the Pro grill, in which case I would go with black. As for the bumper, it's really hard to tell from the photos how bad it looks... if it's barely noticeable then I'd let it ride, but if it's gonna bother you then I'd go oem bumper/stock color.

Only if they physically come into contact with your property, otherwise it's a pissing match and rarely ever come to a verdict in your favor.

I'll probably just go all-stock. A matte black valance, now that i think about it, after getting pelted with debris, sand, stones, road salt, i'd imagine id see the damage from that pretty easily.

That's a pain! Sorry to hear about the plow issue. I always hate passing the plows head on because the salt spreader always throws pieces real far to the sides. I usually swerve over if possible but a lot harder when you're parked!!

Calling insurance, they told me i wont get hit with any surcharge or points added, but i'll have to cover the deductible. I dont mind that, but the shops here are all booking a month out. All the ice storms, snow storms, and apparently people dont know how to friggin drive.

The shops i got quotes from all say that they could repair the bumper cover and replace the valance. Im a little OCD and would prefer a new bumper cover. I figure if i insist on it, maybe the shop can talk the insurance co. into paying for it, or i'll have to spring for the difference.

Sat down with a body shop owner, and he was confused that there was no pain code for the valance part, that it comes in silver or black. I told him that im pretty sure that they dont need painting, that even the salsa red 4runners still have a silver valance, and the TRD PRO's have a black one.

Am i correct that the lower bumper valance does need painting?

Also, i look on OEM parts providers like Conicelli parts net, etc. and a valance is under $100. The shops price is almost $300! Mark up much???
