From a 3rd Gen Acura TL to a 3rd Gen 4Runner

Hello, everyone. Iv'e been a member of this forum for a couple of months now but have never posted any pictures of my Runner.

Long story short, I had a beautiful 2006 Acura TL that started out stock but didn't stay that way long. My Fiancee' (Now wife) did't have a car of her own at the time and hated to drive the TL because of how low it was and I would always cringe when she got too close to a curb. I decided it was best to sell the TL and get a more friendly car for her to drive and one that I didn't really have to worry about her driving, so I got a 2001 limited 4Runner 4x4. I really miss my TL but I am falling in love with the 4Runner. I never knew off-roading could be so fun. I'm hoping to lift the Runner and get a nice set of A/T tires soon.

Subscribed. BTW I have a 2008 TL w/ 53K miles and a 97 4Runner with 235K miles.

Welcome to the forum. Your TL looked pretty damn sweet.

My TL will be staying stock. The only mods I've done are Weathertech Liners in the front, 40% tint, 18" wheels and new 5000k bulbs. Not dropped and never will be, that's just not for me. Oh I forgot to mention the lovely upcoming timing belt mod I've got to do. Yay!

Thanks! Yeah, I saw your TL on another thread. Looked nice! Luckily I sold mine with 70k miles on it so it wasn't quite due for the timing belt change yet :whoo:

I figured the lowered car thing wouldn't be to big of a hit here haha.

Thanks! I think i'm going to do a 2-3 inch lift first with OME full suspension first, unless there is a better option for a lift that is cheaper but still good for moderate off-roading, and then go with tires after that. I also want to do some armor for the front and rear bumpers.

I see you are in Tennessee, I'm in Nashville. Are there any good off-roading areas around here? I haven't really been able to find any yet.

Thanks! I think i'm going to do a 2-3 inch lift first with OME full suspension first, unless there is a better option for a lift that is cheaper but still good for moderate off-roading, and then go with tires after that. I also want to do some armor for the front and rear bumpers.

Oh yes some of the hardest terrain to take a rig... Research Windrock it has a various of trails to ride.http://www.windrockpark.com/
72,000 acres worth of Trail riding and such

Its pretty Brutal. I mean the standard trails are pretty legit. but the places like Rattle rock, and others are suspension tester for sure. I mean some of the rock area trails are interesting... Oh forgot to mention I'm in the Knoxville area.

My DD was an 08 Type S... so much easier to pass cars with that than the 4runner!

I have both the OME on a Tacoma, and Bilsteins on the 4runner. OME is bomber, but much harsher on a stock rig. The Billsteins are much more comfortable in overall ride quality.

It was a comfy car, and I agree, one of the best looking cars out there... But the torque steer was awful. If only they put the awd platform on that car like they did the next generation...

True about the steering. I think it is all about how you drive it but yes being FWD vehicle with a good amount of HP if you put gas on while turning you are going to get the torque-steer. I drive it with this in mind, accelerate into the curve then easy off during the turn and I have no issues. I wish it was RWD.

Man I miss tq steer. My 400+whp awd talon would to steer all over.
