Front Brake Help

I'm going to be order new front brake lines from Wheelers Choice, and that's the easy part. I've tried searching and came across one thread that talked about converting our hard lines to soft lines. It really sucks working on the brakes with hard lines. Has anyone done this with success, and what did you use? I know I need to find a line with a banjo fitting, and get a banjo bolt as well. Is 10mm the correct size for the banjo bolt? Could I simply take my caliper to NAPA and find a line and bolt that work there?

If you can find the right sized fitting you can do anything. As far as converting to soft line goes I'm sure you shouldn't have any problems, I work on gauge lines on my ship and it is a PITA to work on them so I know how you feel haha. I should have thought to do that for my TBU...

I'm really on the fences about getting new Wheeler's Choice front brake lines, and a set of Russell 9" Universal 10mm lines to complete this. Or, just get a set of longers Russell Universal 10mm lines and replace these two sections with one. I don't think this should be hard at all. Just want to make sure I get the sizes down. I'd like to replace them with black lines, and I can order those for pretty cheap.

Have you looked into toytecs front brake lines? I'm sure you could use those too, they come in a pair.

Those lines are to replace the existing soft upper section. I'm pretty sure no one selling a soft lower specifically for our 4runner. Those are along the same line as the Wheelers Choice lines. That's the easy part to figure. I need to figure out a line that will connect directly to that line, or find an adapter to connect the two.

Okay that makes sense, maybe there's someone on this forum that's done it before but I couldn't think of them off the top of my head.

I've been about to find one thread about doing it. Unfortunately it didn't give much information beside the 10mm part and people saying they've done it.

If you don't find any options, you may want to see if there is a hydraulic line place close to you. I have had custom brake lines made for other projects, and I just walked into my local place with an example of the fittings I needed on both ends of the line, and they were able to make them up for less than $100.

I've thought of that, just don't have a shop within about 50 miles of me. I've looked into that option before. I have a friend that works for a shop, but he's about 2 hours from me. I know I can get various lengths from Russell from 9" to 27", and in 10mm. I really just need to know if 10mm is the correct size before I start pulling things off.
