front bumber

i have seen pics of 4runners that look as if the bottom part of the bumber was taken off....

has anyone done this?

Yeah I think he is talking about the front valence. I did that and duhockey did this too I am pretty sure. Its really simple and I don't think it looks bad.

I had a little rubbing when I first got my tires so I took it off which I thought was a better idea at the time than trimming. Anyways i took a big hit from prerunning and the tire came up and bent the metal down. I had an extra bumper and left the valance on but trimmed it so the plastic acted as a buffer.

Anyways! Long story short for the majority of people its easy, looks decent, and is a good way to improve approach angle and avoid rubbing.
 
Yup, I like it better without. I was thinking.... why the hell am I taking the time to cut this valence when I can just take it off.

wanna post a pic? i have seen it before but cant seem to find it now. ill search again but a pic would be awesome.

and how hard is it to take off? and more importantly how hard is it to put back on?

6 bolts to get the bumper off,

and then a bunch of little teeny bolts behind...

looks way tougher.

til you get a real bumper I recommend it.
