Front Bumpers for 5th Gens

I love a couple different ones. I do have a crazy question.....since the 4Runner and Tacoma are built on the same frame, can we mount up a front bumper that was designed for the Tacoma? Thanks for the help!

BTW...I'm new here and this is my first 4Runner (2016 SR5 Premium, Blizzard white)

I don't think the 4Runner and Tacoma frames are the same actually. Body lines certainly wouldn't line up. But with enough time and money I'm sure you could make it work. Welcome though!!!

The trucks weight a lot and don't have huge power to begin with.

If I needed and wanted protection, I'd shop for light weight. Skids, bumpers, racks...LIGHT. My only steel would be sliders as they take a pounding if you use them.

I'll back this up, I was surprised how much my Demello weighed me down, and it's one of the lighter steel options. Maybe I just like stiff suspension though, I'm running 700lb coils in front and am considering swapping them for 750's.
 
I wish there was an airbag compatible aluminum option so I didn't have to mess with suspension like an ARB would

Would installing one of these bumpers be too aggressive for a runner without a lift (basically stock). My trail is basically stock besides trd pro rims and ko2s. Thinking about getting the pelfrelbilt bumper, what are you opinions?

that bumper probably wouldnt be bad because it isnt as bulky as others

They grew on me after trying on Spencer's before he bought it... Lol. However, mine is the prototype and as such there is extra flair. When you look in from top down you see the spool. here is a picture and you can see the clutch on the driver side and the remote plug on the passenger side.

I think it is 78lbs iirc. I've had it on mine for quite while. Of course, that does not include winch weight. Luke at 4x4 Labs does excellent work, but he isn't super fast. I found the quality to be worth it. The washer bottle stays in the same location on all of these so far. I just hit them with some black fusion paint to hide them a little better.

there are kits out there to relocate the bottles and in the future I plan on doing all three of our 5th gens.

Swapped with the wife's. The P rated Falkens are much more enjoyable to ride in vs the LT Dick Cepek's.
