front diff 4x4 actuator issues

*2002* 4runner -- there.

Hey guys the breather nipple on my front *electric* 4x4 actuator broke at some point and i was driving through the water. water and sand got into it and it stopped working. I opened it and you could see the sand seized it.

I have removed the front diff and bought a used one and I'm trying to test it before I put it back together. Ive connected and pushed the button and it didn't actuate and light keeps blinking. key on and also with car started.

So my next question is how can I test it or what else shorted that would prevent it from working? I checked the 4wd fuse.

So you connected both vacuum hoses and the electric position switch connection from the loose diff to the truck? And tried to engage H4 with the truck running?

That should work if all is well. Did you verify that the vacuum switched from one hose to the other when you pushed the button?
