so I went to change my front diff and transfer case fluids, only to find out that here at the shop we don't have the correct size allen to drain and fill the front diff. At that point I did not look at the transfercase.
One of my co-workers is running to town tonight or tomorrow ( depends on snow) Its a 3 hour round trip for us to get to a town of more than 15k people or any decent stores. I don't want him to get me a big set, just what I need.

Can someone tell me what size the allen is for the front diff, and what is on the transfer case. ? ( wrench or allen)

Its prob in one of Mtbtm videos, but on our limited bandwidth, we can not download or stream music or videos ( remote location)

I don't know the size, but any chance you would just be able to get something like this delivered to you?

https://www.amazon.com/Neiko-10074A...8&qid=1510938141&sr=8-2&keywords=Neiko+socket

I know living in the sticks presents challenges, but I didn't know how I would have built up my 4Runner without online shopping.

this time of year UPS does not come up here. the post office does not come here any time of year. SO usually I have my amazon stuff shipped to our office ( 3.5 hour round trip) and one of us runs to town one time a week to get supplies and hit the office for shipments.

Scoping-out the front diff now actually. Yes, a 10mm Allen alright.

The rear, which I have not done just yet, but a 15/16" socket feels quite good on there too. Just another option possibly, should one not have a 24mm available...

the front diff drain size is different from the fill hole so you need to get two allen sizes. sorry, but i forgot the size of the fill hole.

i'd recommend to get the ratchet-type for ease of loosening/tightening instead of the L-type allen wrench

Don't forget to loosen the fill plug first. Also, make sure to use new crush washers on all your drain bolts. they're super cheap.
