Front Diff drop

Even though Toytec didn't recommend it, I'm wonderin if I should drop the front diff. I installed the OME 881's and gained 2" but after drivin only about 35 miles, I see where the CV boots are already leakin grease. I haven't put any hose clamps on them yet and plan to, but it would definitely not hurt to reduce the angle on these joints which have 222,000 miles on them. Would it?

Were the CV's leaking before the lift? I don't think just a 2" lift would have caused this. But, either way, the 1" diff drop kit is only $30 for some peace of mind, but it does increase the angle of your short shaft, so it is a kind of trade-off. I think the angle and wear and tear that can be caused to the CV's outweighs that of the shaft, and it is a very easy install.
