Front driver door lock

I have a 2000 4Runner Limited that has a problem with the drivers door lock. On warm/hot days the lock won't lock using the key fob. It tries to lock but just can't muster the necessary umph. Same thing if it's locked - pushing the button just makes the lock jiggle. Any thoughts? If I need a new lock actuator, is it a big job? Thanks for the help

Mine does this 1 out of 50 times (either direction), but its still annoying!

Lets see if someone has any ideas. :cowboy:

My 96- driver's and right passenger doors, when it was warm I could see them jiggle and hear them trying when I hit the lock button on either door (don't have a working fob). Sometimes they'd work fully or partially after a few tries. Sometimes not so much. I posted a link on here somewhere last week or so but again, here is a write-up of what I did, along with part numbers and where I found the motors...$20 and a few bits and pieces and some puzzling and tada! The write-up is for the rear door. The front is similar, puzzle how to get the lock module out, replace motor, stick back together, puzzle it back in. A little more involved, but not by much.

post 1467-1476 should cover it:
