Front End "Feels Loose"

I have an 08 V8 Limited with 118,000 miles and it still rides good, however I do notice that when I hit some bumpy roads, manhole cover, pot hole, etc., there seems to be a little more play in the steering wheel and the front end seems a bit noisier than I would like. Things just do not feel very "tight." Is that just normal wear and tear of bearings, etc. in the steering, wheel bearings or shocks that happens? Is there a way to "tighten things up?" Otherwise, there is nothing wrong with any of the driving I am just wondering if I should do something about it or if it would be a lot of work for something that isn't a big issue.

Thanks,

Shocks, body mounts, steering linkages, inner and outer tie rods, worn control arm bushing. Wheel bearings are an unlikely source. Start with a good visual inspection of those components(shocks, tie rods, lower control arm bushings).

My 04 V8 was the same way but I had 160K miles on it when I replaced the front struts/springs, sway bar bushings and the front stabilizer links.

The steering was much tighter after the work. I mean noticeably so. The ride also improved a lot.
