Front end pops with sharp turns 4th gen

So here's my problem. When I make a sharp right hand turn my 4runner pops. I got under it to see if it was anything obvious and found a torn axle boot and grease everywhere under the passenger side. I changed the axle and still have the same issue. I've also greased the steering stops and the pop is still there. Im stumped so what's my next move?

Is the popping noise every wheel revolution and only when you are turning? If it is then maybe you had two bad CV joints. One that was a torn boot and didn't make any noise (I had that), and the other which is a bad joint but not a torn boot. See if you can isolate which side the noise is coming from and whether or not it is one per rev. Also, jack up the front end, grab the CV axle near the joint and try to move it. If it has any play it is a bad CV joint.

I haven't checked the sway bar links but I have replaced both CV axles (I changed the passenger side axle tonight after work) Not sure if this will help any but I removed the xreas system and installed the toytec ultimate lift.

Fighting a similar issue myself, good luck I will be following along to see what you come up with and will also post if I ever fix mine.

What did they charge you for the job

Mine didnt come about until i installed my lift, lower control arm bushings and cam bolts. Since then I've replaced the cv axles, removed the sway bar to see if that was it, then remounted it. Made sure everything is tight and i've had a shop check it out twice. gonna try greasing the steering stops tomorrow.

Ball joints are available on rockauto its like $23 each. If the grease doesn't fix it and the shop cant find anything I will order all new ball joints and tierod ends at 171k+ on the clock im sure they will all need to be replaced soon anyway.

Mine does the same exact thing but only when making really sharp left turns. It started after I installed the lift.
Im guessing its something with the Lower control arms or sway bar. Possibly due to the caster being so far out. Ive double checked everything. Nothings loose or worn out. Im not too worried about it.
Im interested to see what fixes it though.

Mine does the same thing as bagginz^^. It happened right after I installed the lift and only when I make left turns.

Don't know what it is :/

Same thing with me, Right after the lift, Then i had the LBJs done and now it's tight, And no more clunk.

So I sent an email to my local Toyota dealer to get an estimate on replacing the lower ball joints and here is the reply received .

Ball joints on this vehicle are part of the lower controll arms.
The controll arms are $363.32 each + tax and the labor is $334.00 which includes an alignment
Estimate $1115.00

No way am I paying that. So if anyone can recommend a good ball joint press and a link to a write up I'll try to change them myself. I installed the lift so surely this can't be nearly as difficult.
