Front end sound diagnosis steps

Just put in my Daystar lift this past weekend. Went for a test drive and immediately heard a wum wum wum wum sound from the front end. Not really loud but it increases with speed. I know I stressed the CV's a bit forcing the LCA down. I also had the caliper off to help get some more movement down and take the stress of the brake line. Figure it has to be one of those? Should I just undo the caliper and put it back on retorque it? Could I have caused damage to a wheel bearing pushing the LCA down that far?

I haven't had the alignment done (dont drive it much during the week) maybe that's causing it?

Front tires are new.

Had an alignment. Sound still there. Seems to be low speed. Or its weak enough that you dont hear/feel it as you get to higher speeds.

I'm going to have the front wheels off to put on spacers so I'll push/pull/spin on everything up front to see if I discover anything. I'll also double check nuts/bolts.

Need more information... you said tires are new. Did you get them put on the same time as the lift? If so...could just be that the tires have a different sound to them. Tires will usually quiet/smooth out after they're broken in.

If you re-installed and properly torqued everything, I don't see how you would have damaged a bearing or anything else. It's always a good idea to re-check bolts after a hundred miles or so to make sure they're still torqued properly.

If you have serious concerns that it's not the tires and there's a weak component somewhere, I wouldn't put on spacers until you had it resolved to your satisfaction. Spacers will only place more stress on bearings, etc.

Could your pads be rubbing since you had the caliper off. They might make a sound like that if they are touching the rotor at a spot or two during revolution.

Need more information... you said tires are new. Did you get them put on the same time as the lift? If so...could just be that the tires have a different sound to them. Tires will usually quiet/smooth out

Tires where new before the lift. I did switch sides during the lift. I'll switch back this weekend. I'll recheck everything. Maybe pull the calipers, check the pads, and reinstall.

If you swapped sideswith the tires and they are now spinnibg in the opposite direction they will make some noise , it should quiet down as they wear down a little
