Front End "thunk" on light bumps

I had the same issue, it was shock bushings. Replaced with HD poly from icon. cost me $40. Also, just to note, my ball joints have been binding and I'm a little over 30K miles in on my icon UCA's. If that's your problem, try to hold out for Icon's new ball joints coming soon.

So, thanks for the help! I've narrowed down some clarification.

I did NOT replace the sway bushings, and actually one is held in by one bolt as the other rusted and sheared. I could drop the whole bar and test drive, that would narrow that down.

It's not fender rub, know what that sounds like. Way heavier and more metallic than that.

Bumping hard on one wheel does cause the problem, not as frequently, but the sound still seems vaguely centered. Which is odd.

When taking off the wheels, nothing seems wobbly, is there a specific lateral runout I should be looking for in wheel bearings?

Further thoughts?

Same issue, and mine was swaybar bushings. Get under the truck, grab the sway bar and shake it. I could hear the thud when I did this.

I had something similar, my LCA was a bit loose on one side. Tightened it and it went away.

Additionally, at 120K I replaced my LCAs b/c my lowerball joints were weeping and notice a LOT more tightness in the steering. I think the LCA bushings wear out over time. In my case replacing the LCAs was a GREAT improvement.
