Front gear install?

Really wasn't that bad. Dropping the old one out took about an hour. Putting the new one in about an hour and a half.

Whatever the problem was, the junkyard diff has fixed it for now. I have 4wd with no clunks. Went ahead and changed out the gear oil in the junker. Now we just have to get it out on a trail and test it a bit.

I'm going to pull the old one apart on Sunday so I can identify the problem and have the whole thing rebuilt. I'll take some pics of the inside so we can all enjoy.

Good deal, glad it went easy for you. I had to go to the mattresses with mine.

I think tearing your existing one down and having it rebuilt is an awesome idea. I second Hyde, need pics of the carnage!
 
Well there she blows........ I'd say that's fairly well destroyed.
